As part of national volunteering week, we teamed up with Laois partnership Company and Laois Sports partnership to bring an evening of essential skills for not for profit sector workshop on Wednesday 22nd of May. We had guest speakers Claire Kelly on burnout to boundaries, Alison O Kelly with communicating with confidence and Marian Barnard with Governace the basics. It was such an informative evening with a great turn out even the beautiful sunshone we had didnt defer the attendees.
On Thursday 23rd , we launched the one million stars installation that was created by local artist Aoife Dunne. We started weaving the stars as part of the one million stars Ireland project with a group of wonderful volunteers last June with a group in Portlaoise and Rathdowney. These wonderful volunteers made 10,000 stars. We would also like to thank mountmellick community School for all there help with getting there students involved in this project.
