On Wednesday the 12th of November, Laois Volunteer Centre were delighted to partner with Mountmellick Community School for the Ogra Live Well Expo. This was the second year of this exciting partnership and this year we had over 45 organisations taking part and providing information stands on mental health, wellbeing and volunteering opportunities for the young people in attendance. Our guest speaker for the day was Dr. Eddie Murphy who spoke to the young people on the importance of maintaining good mental health. Current Rose of Tralee Katelyn Cummins was also in attendance alongside Midlands 103.
Laois Volunteer Centre Manager, Catriona Ryan, was interviewed on Midlands 103 on the topic of Volunteering in Laois. We were very pleased with the success of the event and the participation of the organisations, the school students, and visitors to the Expo. We would like to thank Mountmellick Community School for the opportunity to partner with them on the day.
